The Way to God

John 14:6 – Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

In this simple statement, Jesus declares His deity and position. All religions try to answer these questions:

  • What is the meaning of life?
  • Is there absolute truth?
  • What is to way to both?

Jesus says, I AM.

He is Life, He is absolute Truth, He is The Way. For those seeking God, Jesus is the only way.

For the hurting, for the seeking, for the confused, and for the lost. He says clearly and simply, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Those who worship in spirit and truth worship in Jesus’ name. And a time is coming when all who declare that Jesus is the only way to God will be persecuted.

Matthew 24:9-14

“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”

We share in His suffering, so to share in His glory.

Romans 8:17

“Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”

And just as Jesus was interrogated before the Sanhedrin, so will we be interrogated before the judical branch of our times. And just as His life was taken, so will ours. Figuratively, and eventually… literally.

Matthew 26:63-64

“The high priest said to him, “I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.” “Yes, it is as you say,” Jesus replied. “But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

It is time to throw away the pragmatic gospel and prepare for the inevitable. To understand the full revelation of Jesus so that we fear Him. And understand what it will cost to be His follower.

Proverbs 9:10

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

Jesus is the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. All creation will bow before Him. He came first as the sacrificial lamb, but will come again in Glory. He is the King of Glory. Until we submit to the full revelation of Jesus, we will neither interpret His Word correctly or understand the magnitude of the cross. That sovereign King of the universe gave His life for us.

Praise the name of Jesus. He is our only hope and salvation.
