Pure as Gold

Being refined?

I’m right there with you.

Such a great place to be. Check this out. Did you know that the gold in Heaven is as clear as glass?

“The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass.” Revelation 21:18.

When something is pure, it has gone through a rigorous refinement process. In this case, God gives us a view of how pure gold really looks. You can see right through it.

As with us, we are in a refining process so that we become pure. This process of sanctification prepares us for our ultimate glorification. As we become more like Christ, and allow Him to test and purify us, we become more transparent.

The more transparent we become, the more the light of Christ can shine through us. All the power we have, all the good we can do, is not ourselves but rather denying ourselves and allowing the righteousness of Christ to shine through us.

A denial of self, allows more of God. That unlocks the mystery to the power of the beatitudes in Matthew 5. Jesus said, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” (v.8)

That is the power of purity.

The power is not in our actions, or the lack there of, it is being refined to a place where God is allowed to shine through us more. The more Christ can shine through us, the more people will see God.
