The Big Picture

The charge for the Church is to get out of the mindset that the end all of all Christianity happens within their walls. It is not all about you, your church, or your pastor. It is about Jesus, His body, and His Kingdom.

The local church is a part of the Kingdom, it is not in and of itself the Kingdom.

The Kingdom is bigger than heaven and earth, it hosts angelic beings and the Living God. In Heaven there is no sickness, pain, or disease. When Jesus came to earth He brought with Him the Kingdom of God. He ascended to Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God, but the Kingdom is still among us. (John 17:21)

Jesus sent the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is from Heaven, He is not from here. He dwells the believers body, which means that the power of the Kingdom of Heaven is among us and in us through the Holy Spirit (Luke 17:21). That is where the healing power of God comes into play, because before the physical Kingdom is established on earth we are given the ability to bring Heaven to earth through the power of the Holy Spirit.

You tap into this by faith, just as you are saved.

Spiritless churches do not understand this. They worship human beings, which quenches the Spirit. They are religious and focus on the behavior of individuals over the transformation of the heart. It is driven and centered around the gifts of men and women, rather than the power of God.

It is the worship of the gifts, rather than the Giver.

When we remove the worship and adoration of our leaders and replace it with the worship and adoration of Jesus, we will love His body and come in line with His Spirit. We will treat His bride as we are to treat our own brides, with the care and nurture of our own bodies.

“In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church — for we are members of His body.” – Ephesians 5:28-30

We can not understand the Body of Christ or His bride until we understand His Spirit.

Until then, we are nothing but segregated camps circling around the gifts of men and their charisma. This quenches the power of God. This produces segregation of the body, internal conflict, and renders us ineffective. If the body of Christ is sick, He will purge it.

We are a powerless people because of the object of our worship.

When Jesus is at the center, and in particular His Gospel, then we can return to work together despite our differences with the goal in common to make disciples and transform this world by and through the power of the Living Word, who is Jesus.
